The Huff’s believe in hard work. That motivation comes from within. And both are key indicators of how successful you’ll be in your life. We invest in people who demonstrate grit. What do we mean by grit? Grit means, you know where you are going in life, and more significantly, you know why. You possess and demonstrate hard work in every endeavor, big or small. And, most importantly you stick to it. Setbacks are just that. If you learn from mistakes and failure, and use that new information to re-double your efforts, we’d like to invest in your future.
Eligibility: Local student, graduating from a Tri-Cities area high school, who has been accepted to Washington State University for the 2018-19 school year.
Award: $500 per year of undergraduate study. Renewable for up to five (5) years, but not guaranteed . The scholarship will be paid directly to awardee and may be used for books, housing, fees, etc.
APPLICATION REQUIRENTS
- Completed Application
- Official High School Transcript
- Acceptance letter from Washington State University
- Two Completed Recommendation Forms (One must be from a teacher, counselor or principal)
- Completed essay and a multi-media submission
- Personal Interview, by phone
RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS: Awardee must apply for renewal not later than June 30th of each year. Renewal is at the sole discretion of the Huff Family Scholarship Committee, and is not guaranteed. Awardee must maintain a cumulative 2.5 G.P.A. and be enrolled continuously as a full-time student at Washington State.
DEADLINE: Application must be emailed no later than August 31, 2019.
